2012 Regular Legislative Session Day 20

I’m spending the weekend in Olympia with Molly and Tiffany. Tiffany has a volleyball tournament in Tacoma tomorrow, so the girls came over to do some dress shopping today … that can’t be good for me. 🙂 I’m still on a quest to find a new ball cap, so I’ll head to the tack shop or the mall later today.

The past week was really long and difficult. The pace in Olympia has really picked up since the policy committee’s cutoff is Tuesday and appropriations committee’s cutoff is Friday. This week is likely to be busier than the last, but we’ll see.

Our horse trainer, Tim Kunka, is having a ranch sorting event today in Mossyrock, so head on out there if you’re in the area. He’s also got one of our geldings going to a buck-out tomorrow to see how he bucks. This is a nice big gelding who has been difficult to get started under saddle, so we decided to see if he’d buck. If he does, it could be another outlet for some of our young horses.

Back home, Robert found a half eaten calf the other evening. Our winter lot backs up to the Yakima Training Center so it’s entirely possible it was a young cougar, but we still don’t know for sure. It’s likely coyotes, but it would be nice to know for sure.
