2012 Regular Legislative Session Day 33

After finally leaving the Hose Floor at 11:30 PM last night, we’re back on the House Floor this morning to run more crappy bills that do absolutely nothing to address the $1.5 billion budget deficit. We received another list of bills pulled from Rules by the Speaker at 11:00 PM last night. Oh the fun of being in the minority.

At 9:15 this morning, the House Floor was empty, except for Jason Overstreet, Matt Shea, Cary Condotta, and I. Jason made some comment about how it was fitting that the four of us were standing alone on the House Floor. As we all laughed, I realized how true that statement was. The Liberty Caucus, standing together on the Floor before anyone else is there.

After 2 hours and 35 minutes on the House Floor today, we’ve debated and passed 2 bills. We have another 14 bills on the”run” list before we’ll break for lunch. It’s going to be another long day.
