2012 Regular Legislative Session Day 54

Five o’clock today is the cutoff for bills from the other House, meaning it’s the cutoff for all Senate Bills in the House of Representatives … unless the bill is deemed NTIB (necessary to implement the budget). We should have a somewhat early night today and then I expect a very long day tomorrow. We started the”concur/ do not concur” process today too. This is the process by which the two Houses of the Legislature agree or disagree with the amendments that were made to a bill. It’s a process that takes quite a while to complete and is extremely slow.

We’ve run seven bills so far today and just broke for lunch until 12:30. It’s going to be a long, slow day that ends early … only in Olympia. Only 7 days left.
