2017 Legislative Session, Day 3
My day started off with a public hearing on House Bill 1016 which places safeguards on civil asset forfeiture proceedings. I really appreciate the positive testimony on the bill. Not surprisingly, law enforcement and prosecuting attorneys were opposed to protecting against the theft of property by the government.

The Local Government Committee held a work session today to discuss member priorities for members of the committee.

The Governor’s State of the State speech is today … stay tuned.
