2017 Legislative Session, Day 44

The Appropriations Committee held public hearings on twelve bills today. Substitute House Bill 1047 protecting the public’s health by creating a system for safe and secure collection and disposal of unwanted medications.

Substitute House Bill 1070 concerning filing fee surcharges for funding dispute resolution centers.

Substitute House Bill 1186 concerning the provision of and reimbursement for certain court interpreter services.

Substitute House Bill 1258 concerning persons with a disability present at the scene of an accident.

Substitute House Bill 1351 authorizing, under one license, the sale of spirits, beer, and wine at retail for off-premises consumption.

Substitute House Bill 1366 concerning family reunification in the child welfare process.

Substitute House Bill 1402 concerning the rights and obligations associated with incapacitated persons and other vulnerable adults.

Substitute House Bill 1482 establishing the legislative-executive WorkFirst poverty reduction oversight task force.

Substitute House Bill 1566 – Concerning the definition of work activity for the purposes of the WorkFirst program.

Substitute House Bill 1743 addressing confinement in juvenile rehabilitation facilities for juveniles convicted in adult court.

Substitute House Bill 1819 reducing certain documentation and paperwork requirements in order to improve children’s mental health and safety.

House Bill1858 increasing marijuana license fees and adding a temporary additional fee on marijuana licenses issued by the Washington state liquor and cannabis board.

The Committee may also take Executive Action on twenty four bills today.
