2017 Legislative Session, Day 47 – Appropriations Part 1

The Appropriations Committee will hold public hearings on fourteen bills today. Substitute House Bill 1060 concerning the administration of marijuana to students for medical purposes.

Substitute House Bill 1169 enacting the student opportunity, assistance, and relief act.

Substitute House Bill 1251 concerning the appointment of counsel for youth in dependency court proceedings.

House Bill 1322 reducing training requirements for developmental disability respite providers working three hundred hours or less in any calendar year.

Substitute House Bill 1357 concerning tribal-state relations.

Substitute House Bill 1375 providing students at community and technical colleges with the costs of required course materials.

Substitute House Bill 1388 changing the designation of the state behavioral health authority from the department of social and health services to the health care authority and transferring the related powers, functions, and duties to the health care authority and the department of health.

Substitute House Bill 1440 establishing a student loan bill of rights.

House Bill 1445 concerning dual language in early learning and K-12 education.

Substitute House Bill 1782 concerning dental laboratories.

House Bill 2126 creating a community-based approach to provide assistance with nonlethal management methods to reduce livestock depredations by wolves.

House Bill 1825 extending the timeline for completing a family assessment response, allowing the department of social and health services to complete a family assessment response upon the verbal agreement of a parent to participate, and defining disqualifying crimes.
